Thread: Coolant flush?

    Coolant flush?

Has anyone done a coolant flush, just for good measure? I hit just over 50k miles, and figured i'd do plugs, coolant flush, and radiator cap replacement. Also, adjust the E-brake when i pick up my floor jack from the house this week. Gonna go camping soon, so everything may end up waiting til afterwards...

Are you talking just draining and refilling or taking it in to a dealer who will flush it out at 130psi?

I used to do the Prestone flush on my older cars but I haven't done it in the jeep. Dealer drained and filled around 110k when the lifetime pt warranty 5-year inspection yielded an oil seeping timing cover. But they didn't flush afaik.

190k miles and eight years, still seems clean and happy.

Unless it's really gunked up, a drain and fill should be sufficient.
