    Grandpa's Taxi...

My newest ride, been driving it for about two weeks now. The car spent most of its life a a New York City taxi, now adorned with a fresh coat of generic cop car silver and a Police Interceptor badge courtesy of the previous owner.

I ended up getting it thanks to my friend James Kristie and his mother. Her husband passed away last year, she needed a home for the car and felt he would have wanted to a fellow enthusiast to enjoy it in all it's uniqueness. Thankfully James knew the the oddball that would appreciate it just as it is, passenger divider and all. It's a little difficult to put into words the mixed feelings I get from it. I'm very proud to be the new official owner (title came in the mail yesterday) but I wish I'd got to meet James' step dad. He traveled a lot, always bought these types of cars at auction and suped them up to his liking. He had to be one really interesting character

Following is a list of mods I know have been done to it:

    3.73:1 posi rear end
    2 1/2 dual exhaust with Flowmaster 40's
    MSD ignition coils
Trick Flow intake & 75mm throttle body
    Ford Racing valve covers
    Aluminum drive pulleys
    A-Pillar Tach

The only thing I've had to do so far is splice one bad brake line from the abs module to the rear brakes.

Old rusted line next to the new replacement line

    Cut

Flare and couple new to old

Being in the country I pretty much wave at everybody out of habit, well I may have discovered a secret cop wave. Coming home the other day and a Dawson county deputy waved back enthusiastically. Hmmm

The funny thing is I take the grandkids to school most days because it's on my way. I've been joking with them for months that I needed a divider in the jeep to drown them.... tada, now it's a reality.

Awesome Larry. I want to go for a ride.

I need to know more about this "secret cop wave".
Hey Dickhead, get out of the fast lane! Unless you're passing of course.

Hahaha. Haven't tried wheeling it yet. I'm pretty sure this one's gonna need a bb at a minimum :)

Funny you mention that. I have no clue what he had or was planning but it already has an MSD 8956 rpm activated window switch under the hood but it doesn't activate anything now and there aren't any rpm modules plugged in.

The intake manifold started leaking so I found the Dorman replacement in stock at Advance for $239. Dude says go home and buy it online with the coupon code on there and get 15% off plus an additional $50 gift card to use in the store for future purchases over $100. So I bought it last night, checkout barely over $200 with tax.

I'll get it on the way home this afternoon. Install pics to follow, also again photographic evidence of the reason nobody is swapping a 4.6 into Jeeps. THAT SUCKER IS HUGE!

It's already pretty peppy. That would be something else :D

I can't complain. It does have the trick flow upper intake from James' old Mustang.

If I wasn't worried about losing low end torque I would have tried the edelbrock fully aluminum manifold.

Mud and adobe pie on the right bank.

More goodies to reuse. I have all new plugs, springs and boots.

    Just because :)
