    Here are the parts you need. Get two, because you might as well do both ends.

    and a 1/4 hitch pin clip

    Put the nipple thing on the base of the shifter where the linkage cable connects. with the lipped side of it facing out or toward the drivers side.

    Put the cable on and secure it with the clip.

    Put the center console back in and never worry about it again. :)

    Repeat on the t case side.

    Hardest part of the whole thing in removing the 4wd shifter knob without punching yourself in the face. Most people say to pull on it till it comes off. I tried that, and could totally see myself with a black eye if it budged. so I just clamped on some vice grips and hit the vice grips with a hammer a few times.
